Our statement...

To make soccer available and fun to all children, regardless of age, sex, race, religion, background or abilities.

To be socially responsible for each child and to teach them responsibilities towards their peers and the community around them.

To teach soccer to all in a safe and healthy environment, providing for basic needs within each session.

To create and provide a club where each and every individual feels valued and responsible for their own actions.

To encourage every child who attends to believe in themselves and others around them.

To provide a structured club where every session is of the highest standard and to create opportunities for the possibility of progressing to a higher level of football for each child attending.

Success is no accident. It is hard work, perseverance, learning, studying, sacrifice and most of all, love of what you are doing or learning to do

— Pele

What we do...

We coach football to local disadvantaged children in the capital city of Cambodia, Phnom Penh. We support them to have true free time with their friends and to do what they love; play football. We don't ask anything of them monetarily, just that they commit and listen. We want them to be happy and to continue with us so that they can get the best coaching available and we can give them a free couple of hours of football training a week.

At Football for Kampuchea our methods of coaching differ from those at other organisations or clubs; we bring humour and cameraderie into our drills so when the players are outside of practice they have a wider circle of friends and help each other out.

Our drills are fun but they also teach the children to work hard and, as Pele said, 'Success is no accident'. It starts with hard work and by realising this they understand they must commit and work hard towards their life goals.

Our organisation hopes to affect the children and help them prepare for their future adult life.
